Kira and Cello

Welcome!

Two fascinations began in childhood. In kindergarten I hummed through the supposedly silent nap period, which led to a life-long relationship with the cello. By first grade I was creating stories about a mischievous squirrel. These led to research, storytelling performance, and book writing.

On this site I'll share some of what I've learned as a result of following the bliss:

  • Travel and learning with indigenous people in Siberia and in Nunavut.
  • Music improvisation and the joys of music from around the globe
  • What goes into a good storytelling performance.

About ten years ago I finally brought the fascinations together into musical story performance.

A more recent journey involves walking labyrinths — an ancient path of reflection, healing, and celebration.

May you enjoy the journey with me!
